Warm and Inviting Spaces

A lot is spoken and written about well furnished spaces. The ones with plush furniture and fittings are all that people want to go by when furnishing a new space by themselves.

Sometimes as opposed to popular mindset , hiring a flaired Interior Designer or Interior Architect to assist you in your task of creating a space is all that makes it a hit or a miss.

From the school of thought that I come from always emphasizes the need to create a warm and inviting space rather than a studded and expensive looking one.

There is a thin line that separates a well designed space and a not so well designed one. But a one that makes the largest impact.

Creating warmth in your space does not necessarily come with too much of a do and the need to go too expensive too. Isn’t this a great news. The existing structural elements can sometimes house a beautiful set up eradicating the need to either hide them by the new false finishes. If you don’t have the luxury of these odd ,mismatched nooks in your space why not create them like it’s done in the scene above.
Creating a wall to house the books is way less costlier than a good looking wooden book shelf.

One more of the very important elements of a warm and inviting space are light and textures.

Its an art to combine textures in a room through its various elements and the art needs to come together for the magic to be spun.

I personally feel the more down to earth the textures and lights , the more inviting it makes your space.

The thumb rule is to keep things simple & as close to natural as possible without clogging the space too much. Neutral hues are found in natural textures like Jute, wood , terracotta etc. So basic yet so beautiful. These elements when skillfully added to any space interiors , they are sure to radiate warmth to anyone who comes in.

Adding plants to any bare corner livens it up. Nothing of these is necessarily expensive yet its rich inside out.

Next key point is to put little of your focus & attention to the unseen little spaces. True that they may not be a part of the showoff spaces like your living room & bedroom but without them the home would not be complete either.

Such spaces need to be decorated with heart. Keeping the simplest of props & just something that makes you smile. Life is to just relax & live at times !

Keeping it short I conclude by saying that simple, functional = warm & inviting.

So don't go behind expensive but behind more earthy & hearty decor. You are sure to have guests come & go ga-ga over your space !

Enjoy thinking & decorating. Meanwhile leave your comments if you want any particular topic to be read about !
